The landing of the 166 in Serie D. Which group for Varese, Varesina and Castellanzese?
The landing of the 166 in Serie D. Which group for Varese, Varesina and Castellanzese?

A few days before the official start of the 2024/25 season (from July 1st) is unofficially defined as the framework of next Serie D: to date I am 167 companies have the right to registerbut the Prodeco Montebelluna Calcio he has already made it known that he won’t sign up given that the Venetians have communicated their intention to give up the First Team to concentrate only on the youth sector. This would leave the “traditional” 166 teamsalthough as is sadly common practice there is no shortage of situations of uncertainty which will have to be defined by deadline of July 12thdeadline for registration for the top amateur championship (Covisod will examine the documentation by July 16th: any appeals can be presented by 2.00 pm on July 22nd and Covisod will express its opinion on the matter on the 25th, then leaving the final decision on admission to the championship to the LND Board of Directors).

Varese, Varese And Castellanzese they certainly won’t have any problems signing up, but the inevitable question is: Which group will they end up in? This will be discussed until the ancestral date of publication of the groups and the related calendars, which is why it is legitimate to venture into the field of speculation and hypotheses (as already done last June 5th in the Excellence playoffs still in progress). There Lombardy reiterates the trend of recent years, presenting itself at the starting line with well 24 teams (Tuscany is the region that follows in number with 16 eligible people): we are therefore once again moving towards the division of the Lombardy teams into at least three groups.

Compared to the plan drawn up last June 5th, however, also Piedmont And Liguria they have replenished their ranks by having 11 and 8 teams respectively after the playoff victories of Fossano and Cairese. It goes without saying that Group A is practically already done: to be evaluated if there will be the exclusion of a team (for a group of 18) or the inclusion of an outsider to reach 20 (currently most probable hypothesis). If that were the case the gaze would go up one of the two surviving Lombards (after the promotion of Alcione): Varese or Voghera. In the last few hours, however, it is the hypothesis of even seeing Piacenza is gaining ground placed in Group A, a destination that would be welcomed by the Emilian club.

Grouping A is also craved by Varesebut the red and whites would instead seem destined to return to the Group B where they would find the other two Varesotte. The hypothesis of finding the five sardines has not been completely abandoned, even if at the moment the trail seems to have been blocked (could make a comeback for the 2025/26 season). Therefore taking it for granted that no Lombard team will end up in Group A, there could be the “usual” three teams in Group D (Fanfulla, Sangiuliano City and Sant’Angelo). The Group C would currently see Lavis from Trentino and Brian Lignano and Chions from Friuli with the Venetian block: 16 would be added to these two Lombards (ideally, keeping last year’s plan good, Breno and the newly promoted Ospitaletto) to reach 18, but it cannot be ruled out that the other two from Brescia will also (Desenzano and Pro Palazzolo) can join the lottery for bring two Venetians into the Lombard group (of which one would almost certainly be ChievoVerona).

To complicate the picture, we also add the evergreen possibility that the Ligurians join the Tuscan block in Group Eor in any case one is implemented division between the West (Imperia, Sanremese, Cairese, Albenga and Vado which would remain with the Piedmontese) And Levant (Ligorna, Lavagnese and Fezzanese with the Tuscan ones).
However, from here until the groups are made official, we will still have to wait a long time because the cards on the table are many and, at the moment, still decidedly scattered; until then, this will be neither the first nor the last speculation.
