CURTATONE – The long-awaited appointment with Lirica d’Estate is back, this year on the occasion of the 100 years since the death of Giacomo Puccini, it will be dedicated to “Tosca”an opera in three acts.
The evening was presented this morning in the Municipality of Curtatone.
As an exception, it will not be held as every year in the square in Buscoldo, but at Corte Spagnola in Montanara.8 July at 9.15pmSpectators will be able to listen to soprano Serena Daolio, baritone Marzio Giossi and tenor Dario Prola accompanied by the orchestra of the International Academy of Opera Singing of the Verdi Theatre conducted by Maestro Daniele Anselmi.
Among the new features this year – explains maestro Anselmi – apart from the fact that for the first time we will not be in Buscoldo, there is a new formula in which we would have a narrator who will introduce the different songs based on the original text. Alessandra Azimonti will narrate the work, with the aim of bringing this musical genre closer to even those who don’t follow it because they are afraid of not understanding it. In this way, we would like to get the public used to it, because if you understand something, you like it, otherwise not”.
And it is precisely on opera education that Maestro Anselmi carries out various projects and would like it to become more widespread in Mantua theatres. “Today opera in Mantua is only performed by us in Buscoldo, it is an abandoned musical genre, when instead, just last year, it became a UNESCO heritage site, so I would very much like it to return to other theaters too. Il Sociale, for example, was born for this.”
