Matthew Perry’s drug-related death could lead to ‘multiple people’ being charged.
The star of Friends was found dead at the age of 54 in the hot tub of her Los Angeles home in October 2023: the autopsy revealed the actor had been killed by “acute effects of ketamine”.
A police source has now revealed a People That Several people could face charges as part of the investigation into the actor’s death which came after years of fighting alcohol and drug addiction which had dragged him to the brink of death before he sought help in rehabilitation.
According to an investigative source, Soon it will be up to the prosecutor’s office to decide whether or not to press charges against these people suspected of having somehow contributed to the star’s death.
The investigators’ main objective is to identify where and from whom Perry purchased the drugs.
Last May, Tmz had reported: “Law enforcement sources tell us that an investigation is underway into where Matthew got the ketamine that played a role in his death – and the main questions are who supplied the drug and under what circumstances”.
Always second Tmz, some key Hollywood figures had already been questioned: “Although our sources could not provide names, we know that investigators have spoken to people known to have a history of drug use or abuse.” Always the same sources, “these people are not necessarily the real source of ketamine, but they may have information that leads to the supplier of the substance”.
The Los Angeles County medical examiner’s office revealed in December that Matthew’s death was drug-related. Also drowning, coronary heart disease and the effects of buprenorphine (an opioid painkiller) were listed as other factors which contributed to his death.
At the time, a medical expert speculated that the actor had “probably” obtained ketamine illegally for “recreational use”: even though Matthew was undergoing ketamine treatment for anxiety and depression at the time of his deaththe autopsy report found that “the ketamine in his system at the time of death could not have come from that infusion therapy.”
Matthew’s co-stars in Friends they continued to remember him after his death. A few days ago Courteney Cox60, who was Perry’s romantic partner in the series, guest of CBS Sunday Morning she stated that she is sure that he “visits” her: “I sense Matthew is around, I’m sure of it“.
