Shimpei Tominaga died, June 25, 2024

The wound to his head after hitting his head on the ground following a punch received was lethal for Shimpei Tominaga, the Japanese man involved in a brutal beating on Saturday night between via Pelliccerie and via Paolo Sarpi. After the attack, Tominaga, who was outside with a friend who works in a city restaurant – who was also involved in the brawl, but was slightly injured – was rushed to the intensive care unit of the Santa Maria della Misericordia in critical condition. Doctors tried to save his life, but it was not possible. He leaves behind his wife Chinatsu and their 13-year-old son. While Shimpei was living in Udine – he was dealing with the export of Made in Italy furniture to the country of the Rising Sun – his loved ones had returned to their homeland two years ago, in the city of Kawasaki, 30 kilometers south of Tokyo. After completing primary school in Italy, in fact, the couple had decided to give a Japanese school education for the little one in the family, and then return to our country and enroll in high school. Yesterday there was the arrival of his loved ones and today the confirmation of brain death. Tominaga, born on November 8, 1967, was a well-known person in the city, appreciated for his cordial manner and his friendliness. He arrived in Italy as a child, settling in Rome, together with his father Kenichi, who was the first to deal with the marketing of Japanese cartoons in our country.
