Today at the General Directorate of the ASL Benevento a meeting was held between a delegation of the mayors of the Vitulanese Valley and the general director, Gennaro Volpe, to discuss the issue of eterritorial emergency and the reorganization of the 118 territorial network.
The mayors of the municipalities of: Vitulano, Foglianise, Castelpoto, Tocco Caudio and Cautano, asked to know specifically the organizational methods of the new service, the structure and territorial location of the planned medical facilities, the guarantees of maintaining the current levels of efficiency, the response times of the rescue teams and for reaching the first aid facilities of the capital, the uniformity of the new organization for the entire territory of competence of the ASL.
The director represented how the change in the organization is inevitable due to the current and general shortage of doctors which, upon closer inspection, has led to an effective strengthening of the territorial emergency system in the area: the territory will be able to benefit from an advanced nursing ambulance, managed by healthcare professionals who work effectively, efficiently and appropriately. Furthermore, the Vitulanese Valley will benefit from the medical service located in Torrecuso, which will serve the entire population of the valley and, if necessary, also from the medical service located in the city of Benevento.
Finally, the director of the ASL underlined the constant attention paid to the municipalities of the Vitulanese Valley. In particular, he highlighted the recent strengthening of all the consultancy activities of the Vitulano clinic and the imminent start of work on the new Cautano clinic. The mayors took note of the conditions that made the reorganization necessary, and reassured by the general director that current standards would be maintained, they left the ASL with the commitment of a future meeting.
