L’Expo 2025which will be held in Osaka from 13 April to 13 October, aims to guide the participation of the international community in designing a sustainable society, capable of responding to the needs and wishes of individuals. With the theme “Designing Future Society for our Lives“, L’Expo invites us to reflect on what it means to live a happy life, not only for human beings, but also in relation to the urban and natural contexts that surround us. This edition aims to stimulate a global dialogue on sustainable and innovative lifestyles, exploring how we can create a better future for generations to come.

In conjunction with theExpo 2025L’ADI (Association for Industrial Design) presents the Compasso d’Oro International Award, bringing the prestigious recognition of Made in Italy design on a global scale. This award, awarded by a multidisciplinary jury composed of five qualified experts, will celebrate the most innovative and significant projects that respond to the general themes ofExpo. The Compasso d’Oro International Award it not only highlights the excellence of Italian design, but also promotes the adoption of sustainable and creative practices globally, supporting the idea of ​​a future society that values ​​people’s well-being and happiness.

September 5, 2025 will see the inauguration of the exhibition of the winners of the Compasso d’Oro at Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka, designed by architect Mario Cucinella. This pavilion, inspired by the Ideal City of the Renaissance, integrates the theater and the square as symbols of Italian creativity and cultural encounter. With an Italian garden on the roof, which serves as a terrace overlooking the open sea, the pavilion offers a space for contemplation and regeneration. It will be visible from the Ring, a circular walk suspended 12 meters high, which invites visitors to reflect on the theme “Art regenerates life“, in perfect harmony with the general theme of the Expo: “Designing the future society for our lives“.
