(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 25 – The Italian Open, scheduled this year at the Adriatic Golf Club in Cervia from 27 to 30 June, is one of the oldest and most prestigious tournaments of the DP World Tour. The first edition it was played in 1925, with only three players on the field, moreover in suits and ties. The first to enroll his name in the roll of honor was Francesco Pasquali. The record of victories (four) in the competition belongs to the Belgian Flory Van Donck. Among the Azzurri, only Ugo Grappasonni (1950 and 1954) and Francesco Molinari (2006 and 2016) were able to achieve an encore of successes in the event. There are, however, eight Italian exploits in total.
