It all revolved around two supplier companies based in Paduaequipped with an army of pirate call centers scattered among Italy And Albaniaready to adopt even the most advanced technologies in order to deceive unsuspecting victims: in fact they even used theartificial intelligenceto simulate the vocal consent of victims and stipulate contracts on their behalf.

All this emerges from the “Energy Switch” operation, conducted under the supervision of the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, which made use of the collaboration of the Albanian authorities for the investigations. There were also notable profits made by this massive wild telemarketing machine, capable of raking in 9 million euros in loot in the first three months of 2023 alone.
