This year’s Ruina festival is almost from another era. No special effects, but a great desire to be together carefree over a plate of polenta and the engaging notes first of the municipal band and then of Mirko’s accordion accompanied by Alberto’s guitar, enjoying the first evening of beautiful summer weather. Tourists and residents, together in the small square that gives its name to the district, aiming for wood and speck, playing games as simple as they are intriguing, dancing traditional waltzes and singing, with their arms raised and their cell phones giving light, the songs of the Italian singer-songwriters. For the Pro Loco of Pinzolo which has organised, this is the event which brings us into the summer events which will end with another festival, the one in Baldino dedicated to San Gerolamo, on 30 September.
Also this year, like last year, the wood will be divided between two winners who bet very close to the exact weight of 15 quintals and 65 kilos, missing only by a handful of kilos, while a tourist from Modena won the speck. If a good day is seen from the morning, this will be a summer full of satisfactions for the Pro Loco of Pinzolo…
