The 2024 youth season also ended with a triumph for the Lucca boxing. The Tuscan team went to Roseto degli Abruzzi last weekend for the Youth Italian Cupcomposed by six small athletes from Lucca out of sevenin fact returned from the trip with the coveted trophy of best region of the competition, earned thanks to two silver medals, one bronze and a fourth place.
Silver medal for the Cub (5-7 years) Brando Nicchi, of Boxe Nicchi Arezzo, who has already begun to passionately follow in the footsteps of his father and coach Aldo, promising a bright future ahead of him. However, the Kangaroo couple (8-9 years old) made up of Edjon Franja and Giacomo Arambasa were unlucky and, due to a hitch in the rope jumping test, had to settle for fourth place despite their otherwise excellent performance. Third place for the Kangaroo pair (10-11 years) made up of Chiara Warnakulasuriya and Lorenzo Contino, authors of a commendable performance which demonstrated the vast potential of these two very young athletes.
Finally, there was also a silver medal for the students (12-13 years old) Andrea Sgueo and Gleon Losha, a well-established couple who came within a whisker of gold. The two veterans of the youth sector once again showed off their great qualities, which therefore bodes well for a possible next leap into Olympic boxing.

The Italian Youth Cup therefore returns to Tuscany again, as is now almost customary, even without the regional team having won a gold medal. The strength of this representative team was instead its solidity, with the baby boxers of all four categories arriving on the podium or just at the foot of it. This is a symptom of the excellent state of health of the Tuscan boxing movement, in particular the youth one, of which Lucchese Boxing confirmed itself last year as the highest representative at a national level, according to the rankings drawn up by the Italian Boxing Federation.
