We are in Giugliano in Campania and the gazelle of the mobile radio section of the local company travels through the streets of the city north of Naples. The area is those of public housing and when the police are in Via Bosco in Casacelle they see a man who has every appearance of being a house mouse but something seems more particular than “usual”.
That man is on a balcony of an apartment on the sixth floor and the police know that that apartment is uninhabited. The guy doesn’t see the police, as he is busy cutting the iron railing with a grinder amid the sparks and noise. The military recognizes him. This is a 55-year-old under house arrest. The man served the measure in his apartment and the house in question is right there… a few floors below. Yes, because the 55-year-old – under house arrest on a second floor – had seen fit to arm himself with a grinder and climb up to the uninhabited sixth floor. “No one would have complained about the theft of the railings and therefore of the iron.”
The police reached the 55-year-old and arrested him once the door of the house was forced open.
The man is awaiting trial for escape and attempted theft, the grinder was seized while the firefighters had to intervene to make the apartment on the sixth floor safe.
