In these days of great heat despite the storms, for those who remained in the city and were unable to head towards the coast, there were two possibilities to enjoy a bit of refreshment: the climb towards the Colle San Marco plateau and even in Monte Piselli, or alternatively, the small beach on the Castellano river. In this last case the Municipality has issued an ordinance relating to bathing in the Castellano stream in Porta Cartara. The measure provides for bathing in the stretch of river coast of the stream starting from last Saturday, June 22nd, until Sunday 1st September. And it was a lot. In fact, numerous children but also adults headed towards the Papal Paper Mill over the weekend, with a beach towel under their arm, to enjoy the freshness of the waters of the stream. Bathing was allowed, however, only within the limits of the stretch limited to the so-called ‘little beach’. The Municipality hoped that maximum caution would be adopted, especially by those who bring teenagers and children with them because the river stones are slippery and it is easy to fall. In short, the important thing will always be to pay attention and avoid diving.

For those who remained in the city, there were various initiatives. The exhibition on the ‘Palii della Quintana’ was very popular. An event designed to celebrate the 70 years of Quintana di Ascoli, created with the support of the Marche Region. The exhibition is set up in the Sala della Vittoria and in the Giosafatti Gallery, on the first and second floors of the Civic Art Gallery in Piazza Arringo, where some of the most representative Palios of the 70 years of history of modern Quintana are exhibited. The exhibition will continue until September 29th and holders of the coupon for one of the two Quintana 2024 rides, by presenting it at the cash desk, will be entitled to a reduced ticket for the exhibition. The initiative organized by the association ‘Cultural-mente Insieme’ and Ascoli Musei entitled ‘Culture with taste’, scheduled for Sunday again in the Pinacoteca Civica, was also highly appreciated. The ‘Mousse Eclettica & Crivelli’s Flavor’ was discovered and tasted in the Cecco Room. Then in the Sala della Vittoria there was the dance theater performance ‘The Game’ with Teatro Cast and directed by Niccolò Catani. All while waiting for the ‘Reportage Festival’ scheduled from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th June and now in its fourth edition.
