It bears the name of Demetra, the project by Andrea Ceschin, a young designer who graduated in Product Design at the Pordenone university campus of the ISIA Roma Design headquarters in Pordenone. His “Demeter. Grafting machine for fruit trees”, developed as a degree thesis project with Professor Massimiliano Datti as supervisor, obtained what can be considered a highly coveted Design Oscar for a young creative: the Targa Giovani Award of the Compasso d’Oro, which the jury international competition of ADI Design awarded three projects, including that of the student from Pordenone.
The awards ceremony took place yesterday, Thursday 20 June, in the ADI Design Museum in Piazza Compasso d’Oro 1, in Milan, on the occasion of the XXVIII edition of the Award, in the presence of the authorities, the main universities and design academies, the professional designers, industrialists and the entire supply chain of the design world.

The recognition is a source of great satisfaction and certifies the high quality standards of ISIA teaching, which, in addition to this Plaque, already boasts 280 other national and international awards.
The Roman University Institute has been present in Pordenone, within the University Consortium, for over 13 years.

The Demetra project is the eighth Youth Targa assigned to the ISIA of Rome and the first of the Pordenone branch and in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region.
In fact, the Plaques, only 3 in this edition, are awarded over the two-year period to those innovative projects that stood out among around a thousand candidate projects.
«An important result for the ISIA methodology in design training, which in FVG has found the right mix between material and immaterial culture, creativity and innovation>> commented Professor Tommaso Salvatori, Director of ISIA Roma Design (offices in Rome and Pordenone ).
«It is a great result – commented Professor Marco Ripiccini, coordinator of Competitions and Awards of ISIA Roma Design – for our young designer Andrea Ceschin and for Professor Massimiliano Datti, to whom I renew my congratulations. But it is a reason of great pride for ISIA as a whole, because to achieve certain results, daily team work is fundamental.”

In addition to the 3 plaques, 5 certificates were awarded, all included in the catalogue, for projects selected in the ADI Index, the prestigious publication which annually certifies the best design production.
This is further recognition of the work carried out by ISIA, a university institute based in Pordenone, by ADI Design, which already in 2021 had selected and included in its Index 2021 (the selection of the best Italian design carried out every year from the ADI Permanent Observatory) another Pordenone product, namely the Pordenone Design Week event, born from the partnership between the University Consortium of Pordenone, ISIA Roma Design headquarters in Pordenone, Confindustria Alto Adriatico and the Pordenone Design Cultural Association.
