The Gargano company triumphs with “Minerva”, a monocultivar extra virgin olive oil from Coratina.

Recognitions also for “Diana” and “Yria Riserva”, monocultivars from Ogliarola Garganica. The “Minerva” extra virgin olive oil from Tenute Il Mandrione got the highest recognition in the category of the best oils from the northern hemisphere of the world (Best International Award North Hemisphere) atEVO International Olive Oil Contest® (EVO IOOC), which is among the first five international competitions on extra virgin olive oil and the first in Italy.
Only producers able to guarantee the traceability and provenance of their products will enter the competition.

To the three extra virgin olive oils from Tenute il Mandrione – “Minerva” (Coratina monocultivar), “Diana” (monocultivar of Ogliarola Garganica) and “Yria Reserve” (monocultivar of Ogliarola Garganica from a selection of olives from centenary trees) – the gold medal: a truly prestigious result for the Gargano company which is working in the name of excellence.

Having obtained first place among the best oils in the northern hemisphere of the world encourages us to continue on the path of quality, to allow extra virgin olive oil to regain its dignity in the food and wine market. The path is still long and tortuous, but recognitions like this encourage us to do more and more for our beloved green gold”, he said Ambrogio Caramia of Tenute Il Mandrione during the awards ceremony held in Palmi, Calabria.

In addition to the awards obtained at the EVO IOOC, the “Minerva” and “Diana” oils by Tenute Il Mandrione also received the platinum medal at the Berlin Global Olive Oil Awards (GOOA) and, recently, they were mentioned in the 14th edition of the prestigious Italian Oils Guide Red shrimp.
Tenute il Mandrione is located at the foot of the Umbra Forest, in the Vieste area. The company manages 70 hectares of olive trees and vines, with its own oil mill and cellar. Each phase of production is directly controlled by Ambrogio Caramia and his family, who dedicate passion and commitment to their business.
