Nocera Superiore ballot, there is a flight from the polls: voter turnout collapses

Nocera Superiore

Abstentionism risks being the first party also in the Nocera Superiore ballot. The city of Agro Nocerino Sarnese is the only municipality in the province of Salerno in which – today and tomorrow – there is a vote to elect the new mayor (the other 46 were elected in the first round). Citizens will have to choose between Enrico Bisogno and Gennaro D’Acunzi. Last June 10 the former stood at 34.14%, while the latter reached 47.32%. Bisogno, however, will also be able to count on the support of Rosario Danisi (7.53%) who made a comparison, while Gaetano Montalbano (11.03%) left freedom of choice to his voters.

For the moment, however, the only certain fact is linked to the escape from the polls. At 12 today, in fact, very few people from Noce had gone to the polls. The percentage communicated by the Ministry of the Interior is 11.28%14 points less than the 25.71% of the first round. A collapse that is common to all the municipalities involved in this second electoral round. In fact, in some cities in Campania, the first turnout did not even exceed the 10% threshold, a worrying sign that will need to be reflected upon thoroughly.
