CHIARANO (TREVISO) – Nomads removed by ordinances. Not even 24 hours of illegal stay have passed since a series of large-engined cars towed by the classic nomad caravans stopped in the car park of the industrial area of Via Vittorio Veneto, just before the municipal waste separation collection centre. . The mayor of Chiarano, Stefano De Pieri, didn’t think twice and went to the site. «On Thursday afternoon I received a report relating to the arrival of this caravan, which was not intercepted by our local police, as in the late morning, after the last routine check, nothing unusual had been found» explains the mayor. «From my office I went directly to see what it was about and, after a brief conversation, I ordered those present to leave by 12 noon the following day», that is, yesterday. The mayor continues: «I immediately notified the local police inspector Filippo Vianello, agreeing what to do for the following morning».
Collaboration
No sooner said than done: the mayor issued the immediate eviction order yesterday morning which was notified to the owners of the vehicles present, through the use of three Local Police patrols converged from the neighboring municipalities of Cessalto, Gorgo and Torre di Mosto , under the guidance of Inspector Vianello di Chiarano. The caravan left late yesterday morning. «When there is collaboration and synergy between municipalities, great results can be achieved. Thanks to the mayors Crosato, Vettori and Mazzonetto for the collaboration provided through their agents and to our inspector for the professionalism demonstrated also in this situation”.
The problem in Cessalto
The group had been in Cessalto the previous day: «I confirm, they have come to us for the umpteenth time» said the mayor Emanuele Crosato. «They left immediately, after an order, at the sight of the officers. This is a social problem that happens frequently in our municipalities.” The latest episode occurred no later than the beginning of April this year. In that case the presence had ended up on social media and had caused discontent among the residents. Also on that occasion an immediate municipal ordinance was opted for which allowed the eviction, in that case after a few hours.
