The Compasso d’Oro turns 70 and the new Compasso d’Oro International Award arrives at Expo 2025 in Osaka.

At this edition of the recognition par excellence of Made in Italy design, there is also a piece of Bologna: among the twenty awarded in the most famous Italian design award, the Figaroqua Figarolà lighting system by Paolo Rizzatto and marionanni for Viabizzuno also stands out, in the lighting fixtures category. The Figaroqua Figarolà lamp, from the company based in Bentivoglio, although with a Romagna heart, was awarded for its technology, thus becoming part of Adi’s permanent collection, declared by the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities to be ” exceptional artistic and historical interest”.

Architect Mario Cucinella, 63-year-old founder & design director of MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects, was also awarded for the project for the art museum of the Luigi Rovati Foundation in Milan. In addition to the 20 awarded products, the Compassi d’Oro career awards were added to nine Italian and two international personalities, and to three products on the market for over ten years. Furthermore, 39 honorable mentions were awarded to products chosen for their qualities and the Targa Giovani, for projects by students of Italian design universities.
