A scholarship on Friulian, Ladin and Romansh

There’s time until July 11th to submit your application of admission to PhD course in Linguisticspromoted by Free University of Bolzano jointly with the University of Verona and in collaboration with theARLeF – Regjonâl Agjenzie pe lenghe furlane.

Among the seven scholarships made available for attendance, one is reserved for project on the comparative analysis of policies for the protection of Romansh, Ladin and Friulian.

The scholarship will be awarded to the best project in the thematic area of ​​sociolinguistics that has as focus on legal protection and public linguistic policies relating to the minority languages ​​of Friulian, Dolomitic Ladin and Graubünden Romansh. The project must include a detailed analysis of the regulations and planning documents currently in force from a comparative point of view between the three realities.

The selection includes an interview in which the research project presented will be discussed and evaluated candidate’s language skills, who, in addition to the Italian language, are required to have a good knowledge of English (main teaching language) and German. Mastery of Friulian, Ladin and Romansh will be an advantage.

Attendance at the doctoral course will be spread over three years and will include: a specific research activity to be carried out at the Regional Agency for the Friulian language, for a period of two months.

All specialist or master’s degrees are admitted to apply for participation in the competition for admission to the doctorate. It is necessary to have obtained 300 CFU (master’s degree).
