Fire in Le Salzare, Ardea: The operations to put out the fire that broke out late yesterday morning at the gates of Tor San Lorenzo, between Via Valli di Santa Lucia and Via Monti di Cesavero, which also saw mountains of waste burning, continued until late at night. The firefighters are still on site this morning to monitor any outbreaks. Since yesterday, the Municipality of Ardea has been in close contact with the ASL Roma 6 and the Arpa Lazio which has installed an air sampling column on site; soil monitoring will also be carried out. While waiting for the first data, the Municipality has recommended the resident population to keep doors and windows closed and to carefully wash fruit and vegetables grown in the area. Meanwhile, investigations into the nature of the fire are still underway.
Immediately after the outbreak of the fire which, in a short time, spread yesterday to an area of approximately four hectares, together with the Pomezia Fire Brigade and the “Airone” civil protection personnel, the agents of the Fire Brigade also intervened on site. Local Police of Ardea.
The flames, also due to the weather conditions, reached the former quarry and it was here that the various types of waste present in this area caught fire. Among other things, a family present in the area was also evacuated.
