Superbike Test Cremona, times day 2: Lowes leader, Bassani 3rd

The test that yesterday and today saw some World Superbike and World Supersport teams as protagonists at the Cremona Circuit has been put to rest. On day 2, Toprak Razgatlioglu was not on track, having set the best time yesterday in 1’28″578. The fastest was Alex Lowes with the Ninja ZX-10RR of the Kawasaki Racing Team: 1’28″790, slightly better than Remy Gardner’s best lap (1’28″860) in the May test. For the English rider, almost 80 laps on the track which will host a WorldSBK round for the first time in September (20-22).

Superbike Test Cremona: today’s final ranking

Behind Lowes is Iker Lecuona’s Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, only 132 thousandths behind. The gap of the other Kawasaki rider, Axel Bassani, was also limited, third at 145 thousandths from his teammate with a much better time than that of the first day (1’28″935 against 1’29″566). Michael van der Mark follows with the only BMW in action today in Cremona. The last of the Superbike riders is Xavi Vierge, fifth with the other CBR of the HRC team.

The best of the Supersport riders was Bahattin Sofuoglu in 1’31″866. MV Agusta double, given Marcel Schroetter’s second half. Third was Valentine Debise on the Evan Bros team’s Yamaha, ahead of Andrea Manzi of the Ten Kate Yamaha team. Yari Montella did not lap with the Ducati Panigale V2 of the Barni Spark Racing Team, leader yesterday in 1’32″579.
