A secret visit, not so much to be honest considering that the English media immediately found out about it. Adrian Newey took a tour of Aston Martin’s new headquarters, based in Silverstone, to verify the solidity of the project, the machinery, the ultra-modern simulator, the wind tunnel that is in the works.
So what happens? Newey and Lawrence Stroll, there was talk last March of an offer of 100 million for four years, have they reached an agreement? On the occasion of the Miami GP, there were rumors of a meeting between Newey and Ferrari president John Elkann. On that occasion the foundations were laid for the British designer’s imminent arrival in Maranello. At least that’s what many people claimed.
This “greeting” to Aston Martin’s neighbors, a few kilometers separating the Red Bull headquarters in Milton Keynes from the team of Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll, takes everyone by surprise. Could it have been just an act of courtesy in the face of pressure from Stroll senior? Or is there much more?
