“The role of the Associations is central to our project to relaunch the country”. This is what was stated by the Mayor of Cittanova, lawyer. Domenico Antico during the meeting with the city’s Third Sector which took place last 19 June inside the Council Chamber. A well-attended event which saw numerous proposals for the entertainment of the summer season: a reason for trust and satisfaction for the administrators who immediately intended to also focus on the involvement of the non-profit sector in the realization of socio-cultural events.
“Let’s start the collaboration with civil society in the best possible way – stated the First Citizen -. This participatory method will be structured in the short term through specific actions, starting with the establishment of a permanent Council. The Associations are lifeblood for our Community and we are aware of their centrality in the annual programming in the social, cultural and sporting fields. We wanted to meet the association representatives quickly to explain our government guidelines and to experience a first moment of fruitful collaboration during the summer programming”.
Associations that have not yet submitted a project proposal for the next quarter will have a further week to communicate any ideas to be included in the Novigrad Summer programme.
“Times are tight and resources are very limited – recalled the Mayor, lawyer. Domenico Antico – but let’s not give up and look forward without looking for alibis. It is our job to administer in the service of the Community and find solutions. In parallel with the meetings we are holding in recent days, we have activated all possible energies to seek new useful contributions to support socio-cultural activities. The Institution’s offices, for their part, are working to achieve the best possible result in a short time. With everyone’s support and the concrete participation of civil society, we will be able to enhance our socio-cultural heritage and enhance our excellence in an important season for the life of our beloved Cittanova.”
