CATANZARO – The two disputes, Abramo Customer Care and Tis interns, at the center of a meeting between the president of the Region, Roberto Occhiuto and the unions represented by Maria Elena Senese (Uil), Angelo Sposato (CGIL) and Tonino Russo (CISL). It was the trade unions themselves who asked for a discussion table to address what is becoming a social as well as employment emergency, as it involves over 6 thousand workers. Regarding the dispute Abraham Customer Care, the unions have asked for the possibility of an extension, but also the retraining of those workers who do not find a place in the confirmation of orders, in work paths to be activated in the construction sector digitalization of public administration.
Regarding the Tis trainees instead, the union acronyms have highlighted the need to contract them. These are over 4 thousand people who have guaranteed the provision of services in local authorities over the last 12 years. For both disputes the unions requested the activation of national tables that involve the government.
For his part, the governor Eyed reiterated the importance of discussion with the trade unions on work, precarious work and job security in Calabria. «Of the many disputes, the one that worries me the most is the one relating to Abraham Cc, because it’s about thousand workers. The unions have rightly urged the government several times, including their national secretaries, to convene a table. I have an almost daily conversation with Tim and also with government structures. I believe – declared Occhiuto – that there may be the possibility of one short extension to avoid there being a solution to the relationship for these thousand workers, but there is still work to be done to find a solution which structurally guarantees these workers and their families to be able to look to the future with greater serenity than they have done in this period”.
