Taxi driver refuses to let Cecchi Paone pick up: “I won’t take her”

It happened in Rome. Codacons has announced that it will file a report with the local police

ROME – Another scandal hits Rome’s taxi drivers. In fact, yesterday the driver of a white car refused to let the well-known journalist and science communicator Alessandro Cecchi Paone come on boardjustifying the refusal with the critical positions expressed by Cecchi Paone towards the taxi category.

The episode, filmed by the camera installed on the same taxi, happened yesterday June 5th around 3.40 pm in Campo de’ Fiori. The video of the refusal appeared on social networks, probably published by the taxi driver himself.

The images show the journalist stopping the taxi, with the car slowing down to let the customer get on board but, once he recognized Cecchi Paone, the taxi driver exclaims: “I’m sorry, I don’t want to take her because she talks badly about taxis. You go on foot! ”. The images continue with the car driving away along the streets of central Rome.

THE CODACONDS WILL FILE A COMPLAINT

A video that also shows the codes with the references of the car responsible for the episode and which will now be the subject of a formal complaint by Codacons.

The association will in fact file a report with the Local Police of Rome Capital tomorrowto the Public Prosecutor’s Office and to the Campidoglio, asking to identify the taxi driver responsible for the serious act and proceed for the crime of interruption of public service, raising the sanctions provided for by current legislation and evaluating the further disciplinary measures to be taken, including the suspension of the license .
