Castel di Lama (Ascoli), 20 June 2024 – Life is a breath of wind, which caresses us quickly and goes away. The phrase sums up the life of Mauro Cori, municipal councilor of Castel di Lamawho passed away yesterday afternoon: he would have turned 42 on July 13. A death that shocked the entire community. Mauro died after a fight against an incurable disease, which gave him no escape.
Beloved by all, political companions and adversaries, despite having worked in Rome for some time, he had never lost contact with his city. He had many friends and a commitment to politics, which he never abandoned, first in the ranks of AN and then in FdI. He had also founded a car rental company, as well as working as a driver for some politicians including the Honorable Guido Castelli. For many years he was an opposition councilor, no one forgets his vehemence in the council, but also his friendliness, which always made everyone appreciate him.

Words of condolence from mayor Mauro Bochicchio. “I am deeply sorry for Cori’s death, only a few months ago I heard from him to congratulate him on his entry into the Council. I knew he would do an excellent job, before I applied I followed the Lamense municipal councils and I had seen him in action, I appreciated his way of doing things: a punctual opposition, always witty, friendly, in some cases funny. Unfortunately he was only in the Council once, then a second time he connected via teleconference and then we don’t have him seen more, naturally I thought he had commitments, I could not imagine this painful epilogue. I am firmly convinced that his death represents a serious loss for all of Castel di Lama, not only for his political abilities, but also for his human capacity”. Cori died in Ascoli hospital, in recent days the news of his health conditions had spread, but everyone was rooting for him, no one lost the flame of hope. Cori’s funeral will be celebrated tomorrow morning, at 10.30, in the church of the Santissimo Crocifisso in Piattoni. Mauro leaves behind his mother Rosina and his brother Vincenzo and many relatives and friends who are saddened by this serious loss.
