The column of smoke and fire
A fire broke out this afternoon on the roof of the Giambattista Vico elementary school in the Tamburi district of Taranto. According to initial information there was only damage to the structures. The fire started from the sheathing of the roof of the school complex but the dynamics are still to be clarified.
The Fire Brigade immediately intervened with two teams and two tankers who practically finished the extinguishing phase in these minutes. ARPA, the regional environmental agency, was also alerted as a huge cloud of black smoke was visible from various parts of the city. (Video from “Taranto è lui”)
