VOLPIANO – Another accident at work in Canavese. This time in Volpiano, in via Kercher. It occurred on Monday 17 June 2024 inside a workshop. A 37-year-old mechanic, originally from Romania, resident in Volpiano, was injured. He was checking a car positioned on the scaffolding inside the workshop when, for reasons still under investigation, a truck’s tire exploded and he was hit by debris. Not far away from the mechanic, in fact, a colleague was working to inflate the tire with compressed air which, evidently, he couldn’t hold.
The mechanic was helped by colleagues who immediately called 112. A few minutes later the 37-year-old was stabilized by the medical staff who intervened and transported by ambulance to the emergency room of the Giovanni Bosco hospital in Turin. Luckily his life is not in danger but he suffered several wounds to his side and back. The dynamics of the accident are now being examined by the Carabinieri of Volpiano and the Spresal inspectors of ASL To4, who are also called to verify compliance with the rules governing safety in the workplace.
