In just a few minutes via Trionfale – in peripheral area known as Ottavia di Roma – has landed in the midst of a real chaos by raising the alarm for a fugue in gas in the pipes (it was discovered later) managed by the Italgas company: the immediate evacuation of a good part of the street, but also the temporary closure of the very nearby Ottaviana train station and the diversion of part of the Roman public transport. For now – but the safety operations appear to be still ongoing – there are no particular dangers, while the inconveniences for theinterruption of public lines (combined with numerous train delays) are affecting dozens and dozens of commuters; moreover at the peak time of service for the end of working hours. Via Trionfale in Rome – in the meantime, and obviously due to the gas leak – was almost completely evacuated by the numerous residentswho are crowding the nearby streets waiting to be able to return (safely) to their homes.

It is not yet clear what caused the gas leak, but a spokesperson for Italgas – quoted by the newspaper Roma Today – blamed a “third party company external to the company” which during some unspecified works had “damaged a pipeline (..) causing dispersion”. The company’s technicians – again together with firefighters, law enforcement and CRRC experts – are currently at work and no particular details emerge on how long it will take to limit the gas leak and bring the Rome neighborhood back to its usual tranquility .

For all the Romans and residents of Ottaviano who are wondering which lines are blocked, which roads are impassable and – even – which trains are limited, let’s say immediately that currently the inconveniences concern the bus number 546, 998 and 999; while the roads involved are only two: in addition to the one already widely mentioned Via Trionfale protagonist of the gas leak in Rome, also via Casal del Marmo. Finally – as regards trains – circulation between Monte Mario and La Storta is interrupted, with particular reference to line between the Capital and Viterbo: Regional 23276 stuck on the tracks (reports Trenitalia itself).
