Enna, PD sit-in yesterday: “Castello di Lombardia common good”

ENNA – The sit-in “Castello di Lombardia – Bene Comune” was held yesterday afternoon, organized by the municipal secretariat of the Democratic Party to confront the citizens of Enna who are increasingly worried about the fate of the manor after the controversies of recent days. During the event, with almost a hundred citizens present, an open debate developed and many points emerged on the state of the work which affected the methods, choices, closures, timing, accessibility, services and economic repercussions. In this sense, citizens were invited to come to the next City Council in order to be able to follow up on the many requests collected. Furthermore, during the sit-in, some citizens thought about establishing a spontaneous committee.

“It was enough to announce a sit-in to stir things up”, specifies the municipal secretariat, “and activate the administrator, the political forces and the citizens. If this is needed to get answers and create debate and participation, then this is the right path. However, no one thinks of exploiting the situation: no one, least of all us, is against the redevelopment of public monuments. We believe, however, at the same time that we cannot be deaf to our fellow citizens who deserve and have the right to have adequate responses from politics.” The PD renews its invitation to citizens to follow the City Council on 21 June and to other political forces to vote on their motion to promote the accessibility of the Lombardy Castle.
