The trial for the death of Barbara Capovani continues

PISA – The trial continues for the death of psychiatrist Barbara Capovani, who was violently attacked outside the psychiatry department of the Santa Chiara hospital where she worked in April last year. In the courtroom Paul Seung, a former patient of hers, accused of murder. Seung arrived at the courthouse by accessing a side entrance: addressing the journalists he uttered some sentences, including some that made no sense about Capovani herself. The accused then decided to participate in the hearing and make spontaneous statements but once before the assize court he changed his mind due to the absence of a witness and left the courtroom.

In the courtroom the psychiatrist Pietro Pietrini was heard as a defense witness, “I examined Seung on behalf of the court of Lucca during a trial for the attack on a security guard, noting a situation of delusional disorder with the use of substances and concluded my expertise with the vice of mind”. “Seung – he then added – is a great manipulator, he has a comorbid narcissistic disorder, therefore he has megalomanic traits. He is certainly dangerous and I also wrote it in my report that he was highly socially dangerous and that for complete without awareness of the disease he would not have faced treatment and therefore the measures provided for by law had to be applied to him”.
