Thus the regional councilor for Infrastructure and territory Cristina Amirante responded today to a question, during the question time in the Chamber, to clarify the causes of the accident to the Audace ship on the Trieste – Grado sea route and the times for restoring the service.
Amirante wanted to clarify, initially, that “the accident concerned the vessel Audace for which there have never been reports formally filed in the Region for disservices or other critical issues, while some council questions in the past concerned another vessel, la Adriatica. It is therefore not correct to confuse citizens with wrong information: the Region immediately took action with the responsible parties to shed light on an undoubtedly serious accident”.
“The consortium company Apt – the councilor remarked – with a note sent to Tpl Fvg scarl in response to the Region’s request for information, which was timely, highlighted that from the documentary checks carried out already on the evening of 12 June at Porto Nogaro from competent authorities have ruled out any irregularity in the authorization and ability to navigate the sea route covered by the service of the motor vessel Audace”. As for the restoration of the service, Amirante declared that “during a meeting on Monday we asked the company to propose an alternative service and we are awaiting proposals within this week. In the meantime, the Grado-Trieste connection, from the afternoon of 12 June, is carried out with scheduled automotive vehicles equipped with a bicycle trolley”. ARC/SSA/pph
