The recipients of the funds, totaling 2,348,800 euros, are non-profit social utility organizations (ONLUS), social promotion associations (APS) and voluntary organizations (ODS) which have among their statutory purposes the support of a voluntary detachment of the National Fire Brigade present in the regional territory”, continues Massardi.

“The funds will be divided as follows: 2,000,000 euros for strengthening the technical-instrumental equipment for the years 2024 and 2025; 128,800 euros for the year 2024 and 220,000 euros for the years 2025 and 2026 for training activities aimed at the staff of the voluntary detachments of the National Fire Brigade – explains Massardi – the sums will be used for the purchase of vehicles and technical equipment, the implementation of structural and plant interventions essential for carrying out the assigned tasks, the financing of specific training courses to improve the preparation of the volunteer staff of the National Fire Brigade” .

In Lombardy, approximately 1,600 volunteer firefighters are operational, located in over 70 detachments of the provincial commands. These men are fundamental resources who carry out an indispensable and highly meritorious job and with this new allocation of resources the Lombardy Region intends to express its closeness and gratitude to them”he concludes.
