The Lazio Region has approved a 350-thousand-euro investment to enhance the Certosa di Trisulti in order to ensure the best possible experience for the public.

The Lazio Regional Council, led by President Francesco Rocca and at the proposal of Councilor for Culture, Equal Opportunities, Youth and Family Policies Simona Baldassarrehas approved a plan for the enhancement of the Trisulti Charterhouse (Frosinone). This project, outlined in the 2024-2026 Business Plan, involves the allocation of significant resources to consolidate and expand the services offered to those who wish to visit and learn about this historic jewel located in the province of Frosinone.

With a total investment of 350,200 euros for 2024 and the year 2025, LAZIOcrea spa will be in charge of implementing a series of initiatives aimed at improving accessibility and the visitor experience at the Certosa di Trisulti.

Simona Baldassarre stressed the importance of this project not only to preserve the region’s cultural heritage, but also to promote cultural tourism and historical education among citizens and visitors. “The Charterhouse of Trisulti is an important monument that this council intends to develop and enhance more and more, thanks also to this resolution,” she said. “We are aware of the value of the place and its ability to be an attractor for a territory of great value and for the whole region, also with reference to the opportunities to be seized related to the upcoming Jubilee.”

The Carthusian Monastery of Trisulti, located near Collepardo, with its roots going back to the 13th century, is a Carthusian monastery that has spanned centuries of Italian history, becoming a symbol of spirituality in these places. Located in a striking natural setting in the Ernici Mountains, the Carthusian Monastery is already known for its architectural beauty and the tranquility it offers its visitors. It returned to public availability after it was given under management for some time, from 2017 until July 2021, to the Dignitatis Humanae Institute (DHI) foundation, linked to the American ultra-right, which, however, according to the Council of State, did not qualify for the concession.

The Charterhouse improvement project will be closely supervised to ensure compliance with heritage preservation and enhancement guidelines, ensuring that the investment contributes to the sustainable improvement of the infrastructure and cultural experiences offered.

“The approved resolution goes in this direction, providing for a series of synergistic measures involving staff management and the service of organizing educational activities and cultural entertainment, which are necessary to make the Charterhouse more and more a living place, experienced by schools, citizens and tourists,” Councilor Baldassare concludes. “Fundamental is also the communication plan that we are going to finance, to make people discover this wonderful work of art and faith, which increasingly deserves to be an attraction, not only local, but national and global.”
