A WhatsApp audio in which he appears serene, a few hours before his death which for the investigators was undoubtedly a suicide. The mystery surrounding the entrepreneur Angelo Onorato, found dead in his car, on the slip road below the Palermo-Trapani motorway junction, is still far from being resolved and as Giorgio Mannino writes in the Giornale di Sicilia, the family wants to know what would have pushed Onorato to take himself away the life. “We need to understand – explains the family’s lawyer, Vincenzo Lo Re – whether it was incitement to suicide. From the files that the Prosecutor’s Office is examining, we are trying to find out who and if someone was blackmailing him and, in some way, induced him to commit the act. The Prosecutor’s Office – adds the lawyer – is working very well and we have confidence in the investigators”.

The mystery of the motivations

The trail of the murder seems to have faded, as the forensic doctor and party consultant, Nuccia Albano, also explains: “After the first autopsy tests – he says – the doubts have disappeared, we are waiting for the toxicological results which will certainly be important but on the act there are doubts. We need to understand the reasons for what happened. The reason for what happened is needed by the family to put an end to this exhausting torment. I met Onorato in many political initiatives, a respectable and serene person. It is difficult to understand the reasons.”

Deleted files

Meanwhile, the extraction of all the dialogues and contacts contained in Onorato’s two phones and computer has been completed. The family has already submitted a request to the Prosecutor’s Office to have access to the information collected: thousands of messages, emails and chats transcribed by computer scientists. A work aimed above all at the recovery of audio or video files, emails and chats which are assumed to have been deleted from the devices, as was revealed during the investigations. The objective of the technical checks is precisely to understand what would actually have been removed and by whom. The investigators, in the early stages of the investigation, had already let it slip that there would be traces of deleted files, some even a few hours before the death.
