Finally comes a victory for motorists who are against speed cameras: here’s where the shutdown comes in.

Among the hottest topics of the moment there are undoubtedly the Speed Cameras. We know well that these devices have been the number one enemy for years for the majority of motorists, who have a disproportionate hatred towards these devices. We remind you that speed cameras are able to detect the speed of a vehicle within a certain road section and thus punish anyone who drives exceeding the limits in force for that road.

Last May 28th, in Official Journal The Speed Camera Decree, which has been awaited for fourteen years, has finally appeared. It was announced by the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, which had long declared the government’s intention to review some of the rules concerning veloxes. The objective is to regulate a sector that in recent years had become a real jungle, especially because there was no clear regulation on velox.

It is therefore no coincidence that the velox have gathered a very high number of enemies over the years. In addition to Minister Salvini, several citizens have also taken initiatives against these devices by acting themselves. Even going so far as to deface some of them, as in the case of Fleximan.

Fleximan won, speed cameras off

Even though it was said that Fleximan had been captured, it seems that his works are actually continuing. This strengthens the thesis that a group of people and not a single person was behind the breaking of dozens of speed cameras throughout Italy.

A few days ago, in fact, Fleximan stoned one of these devices in Salento. In particular, the target was a speed camera that was installed on state road 101, near the municipality of Galatina.

What happens now

This wasn’t the first time this device had been targeted by Fleximan. In fact, it had already been hit last summer, but the actions of the last few days have been successful. In fact, Fleximan (or the group of people hiding behind that name) they managed to win.

The speed camera has been turned off and will not be turned back on at least until it is fixed. In short, a temporary victory. In the meantime, protests continue against administrations accused of using these devices only to raise money at the expense of citizens.
