The second cause of death in Trentino is linked to tumors. In 2021 the total of deaths in Trentino amounted to 5,439 people. 1425 of these died due to cancer.
The sad first place goes to those who died from cancer to the trachea, bronchi and lungs (236). Pathologies often linked to smokers. In Italy, 80 people die every day due to cancer caused by smoking.
150 people died of pancreatic cancer which remains the most lethal pathology of all. 144 instead for colon, rectal and anal cancer. Subsequently, in Trentino people often die of thumor to the liver, genital organs and breast.

In our region however, deaths from tumors are limited to the kidney, esophagus, lymphomas, leukemias and myelomas, and finally to the stomach and intestines.
In Trentino, more men die of cancer, 756 compared to 669 women. The largest gender gap is lung cancer where almost twice as many men die as women. Pancreatic cancer, on the other hand, affects women more.
The average age of death from cancer is 75.8 years for men and 77.9 for women.
