Ferrari wins the 24H Le Mans 2024! Antonio Fuoco, Nicklas Nielsen and Miguel Molina win one Amazing 24 hours with the 499P #50 in front of the Toyota #7 by Josè Maria Lopez, Kamui Kobayashi and Nyck de Vries. Ferrari third 499P #51 by Alessandro Pier Guidi, James Calado and Antonio Giovinazzi.
First top-10 in the WEC Hypercar class for Lamborghinithanks to SC63 #63 by Mirko Bortolotti, Daniil Kvyat and Edoardo Mortara. Nice result for Isotta Fraschini, who manages to finish his first one-day race.
The rain gives wings to the Ferrari #50
As expected, rain returned to Le Mans. Two hours before the end of the race, it started rainingupsetting the teams’ strategies. The fight for victory was narrowed down to Ferrari and Toyotabut the rain brought unpredictable twists.
The first twist it was when Alessandro Pier Guidi, on the Ferrari #51, rammed the #8 Toyota in second position during an overtaking attempt. The Japanese car spunwasting precious time trying to get back on track.
For this maneuver, the Ferrari 499P was penalized with 5 seconds to serve at the first available pit stop. In the meantime, Ferrari #50 seemed headed for victorybut a problem with a door forced the race leader to stop.
With 26 minutes to go, the #8 Toyota, #63 Lamborghini and #311 Whelen Cadillac stopped for fuel. The podium remained in the hands of the Ferrari #50 which flew to victory, followed by the Toyota #7 and the other Ferrari 499P #51. Porsche 963 Penske #6 came fourth.
LMP2, fourth AF Corse to win in Pro/Am
After leading the LMP2 class for a long time, AF Corse’s Oreca #183 finished fourth in the category, conquering the Pro/Am subclass.
WinsOreca #22 by United Autosport, in front of #34 of Inter Europol Competition and at #28 of IDEC Sports.
LMGT3, the Iron Dames fifth. Ferrari Vista AF Corse #55 was sixth
The #85 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 of the Iron Dames it is the first car from Motor Valley in the LMGT3 class.
The all-female crew made up of Rahel Frey, Sarah Bovy and Michelle Gatting took fifth place in the category, behind Porsche #91 by Manthey EMAat the BMW M4 GT3 #31 by WRT and at two Ford Mustang.
The first Ferrari to cross the finish line was sixth, with the 296 LMGT3 #55 of Vista AF Corse. The Spirit of Race Ferrari #155 was eighth.
