Time for the last farewells in uniform for Foglia, a hero dog of the Fire Brigade who, after having served for years, is retired. Thank you Foglia for your invaluable contribution!

She provided aid in Albania during the 2019 earthquake, she found a group of young people who had lost their orientation in Garfagnana, she intervened in the search under rubble following the collapse of the Morandi viaduct in Genoa.
Her name is Foglia, she is an incredible dog who collaborated with her colleagues from the Fire Brigade and, after 6 long years of work, the time has come to say goodbye. Recently, the dog unit of the Prato Fire Brigade warmly greeted its Foglia.
Just as happens with colleagues who leave active service, the Command has organized a small ceremony and remembered the operations in which Foglia took part and then wished her a peaceful rest.
She had joined the unit way back in February 2018. She had passed the training course together with the policeman Luca Martino, her handler, and had surprised everyone with her approach and skills, “standing out for her research ability in underground environment” writes the Prato Command.
Greetings and affectionate caresses for a fellow hero who, like all search dogs trained throughout Italy, has made an invaluable contribution. Now it’s time to enjoy “retirement”, putting away the Fire Brigade harness.
