MXGP of Maggiora TV: Doensen wins the EMX125, Rispoli and Mancini on the podium

Racing

EMX125

Yesterday’s rain stopped the eighth liters, which today had their worthy revenge against the weather. Gyan Doensen does what he has to do, starts in front, takes the lead and wins. Precious points for the championship given the diametrically opposite performance of championship leader Noel Zanocz. The Hungarian doesn’t have a perfect start, he starts from behind and recovers to P8. The points accumulated so far allow him to still keep the red plate on his Fantic. Brando Rispoli’s performance was excellent; without making any mistakes he climbs onto the European podium for the first time. Closing the podium was Simone Mancini, who always remained in front and was able to take advantage of the carelessness of Brunet and Alvisi.

MXGP and MX2 Warm-UP

Warm-up laps for the world championship. In the cadet class Liam Everts set the best time on the last lap, beating Andrea Adamo and Lucas Coenen; fourth place for Sacha Coenen and fifth for Simon Laengenfelder. In the queen class Instead, Jeffrey Herlings dominates; the Flying Dutchman breaks the two-second barrier. Behind him Tim Gajser and Brian Bogers. The Fantic rider is picking up the pace and with the look of someone who is hungry he will try to confirm himself in the race too.

Round 10 –Maggiora, 16.06.2024

Maggiora, tenth appointment for the MXGP World Championship. We return to Italy for the third and last time in 2024 and we will do it again with a new name at the top of the championship standings. Tim Gajser has overtaken Jorge Prado in the general classification and will dress his Honda in Red. If the Spaniard doesn’t seem to digest the mud, the Slovenian knows how to navigate the dangers it creates. If the two competed for P1 in the championship, the Dutchman won again! Jeffrey Herlings promised that he would win again and so he did. After a sparkling qualifying, Mattia Guadagnini got “lost” in the middle of the standings in the two heats. Could the home atmosphere give the Husqvarna rider the right push to shine all weekend? Did Andrea Bonacorsi collect his best performance the last time he raced in Italy, that Maggiora will see him do it again? Alberto Forato is still absent, his return is still a TBD.

In the MX2 the fight for GP victory is a family affair: Sacha Coenen starts and finishes with the same pace for the first time. Table #19 showed excellent speed in the early stages of the race but then dropped the pace in the second part. Latvia, on the other hand, sees him fast from the first minute to the last, which earned him his first podium, his first heat victory and his first first position in a GP. Lucas for his part finishes behind his brother, thanks to an error in race 2. Simon Laegenfelder closes the GP podium. Kay de Wolf, however, remains at the top of the championship despite a second heat full of crashes dictated by the desire to recover. Andrea Adamo continues his roller coaster ride, did he go downhill in Latvia for Maggiora to see him go back up? Ferruccio Zanchi makes his debut in an Italian GP, absent in Trento and Riola due to an injury, he is ready to warm the hearts of his fans.

Noel Zanocz and Gyan Doensen continue to face each other in the EMX125, however the Hungarian driver increases his gap, Third position for Simone Mancini just two points away from silver; will the air of home make him advance? Similar situation for Kiara Fontanesi, third in the championship but close to fourth. At the top of the rankings we still find the young Lotte van Drunen ahead of Daniela Guillen; a different step for these two compared to the others, will they demonstrate it?

The editorial team is going away to Maggiora, so in addition to the usual reports, check our social pages for Live content from the entire race weekend.
