Over 1,400 people, including graduates, families, teachers, staff and authorities, populated the Liuc – Cattaneo University park on Friday for the “Graduates in celebration” event. The 2022/23 academic year saw 1,008 students graduate (between bachelor’s and master’s degrees), of which 781 in Economics, 221 in Engineering and 6 in Law; 125 with 110 cum laude. The speech of the rector, Federico Visconti, was a “Zibaldone of rectoral thoughts”, formulated between 2016 and 2023 and put back in line, connected to some songs that have made the history of music, ranging from Pink Floyd to Cat Stevens . He then addressed the young doctors with a wish: “You must be proud of the result you have achieved, after years of classroom and teaching activity, study and exams. You have experienced them within these walls but also by moving around between international exchanges and company internships. You have experienced them, achieving satisfaction, overcoming disappointments, acquiring skills, gaining experience and building relationships. They are unique, they make you grow humanly and professionally. it will also apply to you.”
First time on stage at the ceremony for the new CEO of the University, Richard Arsan: “We must work from a perspective of service and great responsibility because our work is your future. Incidentally, this is the great value of a University in person, which does not limit itself to transmitting knowledge, but offers you a path made of meetings, relationships, discussion. A rich, true and unique experience that you will always carry with you.” The president of Liuc, Riccardo Comerio, instead recalled some of the projects characterizing the University: international accreditation, to make it more attractive for students from all over the world, the many educational innovation initiatives but also the Liuc Sport project. “As President of this still young University – he said – I see a desire to learn, to get involved and be put to the test, to have multiple experiences anywhere. Because you, by birth and mentality, are European citizens, if not of the world.”
