Maxi exercise in Rome for the Jubilee, simulated explosion

At 11 o’clock the first call came to the emergency number 112 with a general report of an explosion. Then other calls followed, similar and confusing. The police, carabinieri, firefighters, civil protection, local police and healthcare personnel converged in the area. 118 and Red Cross ambulances were sent to the scene. The stretch of Viale di Tor di Quinto between Via del Foro Italico and Via Flaminia is closed to traffic. Diversions on via del Foro Italico for vehicles coming from Piazzale di Ponte Milvio and via Flaminia Nuova, Fleming and Corso di Francia for vehicles coming from Gra. Traffic services have been strengthened by local police patrols. In the second phase, the scenario also involves various hospitals in the capital for the treatment and sorting of the various injured. The objective of the exercise, coordinated by the prefecture, is to test the institutional “response” system, both technical-operational and health-related, to a possible emergency situation also in view of the next jubilee event which will affect the capital throughout 2025 (ANSA).
