It was presented yesterday, June 14, at the Experimental Theater of Pesaroas part of the 60th International New Cinema Exhibition, previewing at 4.45pm “Gli Elefanti”, the short film about the Fire Brigade of the director Antonio Maria Castaldo, filmed in the province of Ancona, in the municipalities of Jesi, Montecarotto and Poggio San Marcello.

The production is of Department of Fire Brigade, Public Rescue and Civil Defence, of the Fire Brigade Central Directorate. for Training and the Regional Fire Brigade Directorate. Marche, who took care in particular of the organizational and institutional aspects. Made with the patronage of the Marche Cultura Foundation – Marche Film Commission and the executive production of 8Production with the organization of Manila Mazzarini. The event was attended by Head of the National Fire Brigade, Carlo Dall’Oppio, together with the Regional Fire Brigade Director. Marche, Cristina D’Angelo and the Commander of the Fire Brigade. of Pesaro, Leonardo Rampino.
In the short film, the VV.F. team is called upon to operate in the complex scenario of a road accident, seen from the eyes of the rescuer; scenario inaccessible during rescue operations and therefore difficult to imagine by ordinary people. In this context, the bonds that are established within the team itself emerge and the empathy that arises with the victim whenever a particularly complex intervention scenario arises, in which in addition to professionalism, it is necessary to get in tune with the person rescued in order to successfully conclude the rescue operations.
The analogy with “The Elephants” must therefore be sought in the ability that characterizes these animals to solve problems together that they face in everyday life.
As the actor himself explained Marco Aceti «The title of this latest effort by director Antonio Maria Castaldo (also a firefighter) – in service at the command in via Genova, in Rome and behind it, interventions carried out in the teams of Frascati and Marino – finds its reason in the nature , in the strength and resistance of these animals who can be combined with firefighters who daily reassure and empathize with those who find themselves in a condition of need and fragility. We don’t want to be labeled as heroes, because we are men who have chosen this job out of passion, with the intention of carrying out a mission with a lot of professionalism acquired through education and training”.
