The toll of a fire that broke out in Milan, in the Gambara area, shortly after seven on Friday evening is tragic. Three dead, as many injured, two of whom were hospitalized. The flames broke out in via Fra’ Galgario at number 8.

According to what was reported by the firefighters, the fire broke out inside a garage, which was empty at the time, completely engulfed in flames, which also reached the first three floors of the condominium. The building was evacuated, but in an apartment on the third floor some people were unable to escape. Three of them died: a 34-year-old man, a 66-year-old and a 63-year-old woman. A man who was seriously burned was saved by the operators. Four people were taken to hospital: a 39-year-old man with yellow code at the Polyclinic and three with green code at San Carlo and San Giuseppe. They are an 89-year-old woman, a 68-year-old and a 56-year-old man.

A team of firefighters from via Sardegna immediately arrived on site, while other teams were sent to reinforce the situation from the operations center in via Messina. The firefighters, around eight in the evening, put out the flames, managing to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to the upper floors of the building.

In total, eight fire brigade teams were employed, employing around fifty men. The NIA (fire investigation unit) and the judicial police unit are also present, responsible for shedding light on the causes of the fire. Arpa technicians were also on site and, for 118, three medical vehicles and six ambulances.
