They will take place from Monday (17 June) until 31 August the expected Geal works for the extension and construction of the new sewerage network on provincial road 24 of Sant’Alessio in the stretch between the intersection with Via per Corte Pistelli and the nursery and primary school.
This afternoon (June 14) in former district of Sant’Alessio, a meeting was held with around thirty citizens to explain the chronology and logistics of the interventionscollect reports, respond to problems and explain possible alternative routes.
They were present for Geal the president Paolo Buchignanithe Geal investment manager Simona Casellathe site manager Marco Aminti, Giovanni Del Debbio for the company carrying out the works. The construction site will be organized in two batches chronologically consecutive: the first intervention will start from the intersection of via Piana (the intersection however will not be affected in the first phase) and via di Sant’Alessio in the direction of schools and will last, barring unforeseen circumstances, from 17 June to 17 July. Once this section is completed, the second batch will start from the intersection with Via Piana (included) towards Corte Pistelli and will last from approximately July 17th to August 31st. The construction sites will be divided into excavation units of 50 meters in length each in succession, lasting on average 3-4 working days (if no unforeseen events occur) so the construction site will evolve in the established directions with the restoration of the roadway.
However, resident access will always be guaranteed. Geal has already contacted residents to inform them about the work and – during the meeting – collected the contacts of citizens interested in it have more detailed information on the progress of the construction site. Geal technicians explained how due to the limited width of the roadway of via di Sant’Alessio together with the depth of the excavation it was impossible to design and build a construction site that would provide an alternating one-way system regulated by traffic lights: the trench excavation is 4 meters deep and with the vibrations caused by traffic, adequate safety is not guaranteed for the workers, nor for those who would travel along the lane, which is why it was necessary to completely close the artery. Therefore during the construction period the citizens who used via di Sant’Alessio as a connection from via Sarzanese to Ponte San Pietro to reach Monte San Quirico and vice versa they will necessarily have to use the Via Sarzanese.
