From Calgary to Castel di Ieri. The lure of the history of a small village that promotes tourism.

Castle of Yesterday had the pleasure of hosting the school group coming from Calgary (Canada) at the most important sites of the village, such as the Tempio Italico, the Madonna di Pietrabona hermitage and the ancient village with the Medieval Watchtower. The students are accompanied by teachers Carolyn Musseig and George Ferzoco, who teach the history and practice of religious culture of Abruzzo degree course in the Faculty of Humanities and Art of the University of Calgary. An important presence for the entire subequano territory and for Castel di Ieri which, for several years now, has been promoting its territory through culture and sites of tourist interest in which it invests for the restoration and use, with the aim of being put into place for a discussion of development and regeneration of the socio-economic fabric, as well as local historical memory. For this reason the mayor Fernando Fabrizio wanted to welcome and thank the professors with an icon representing the Madonna of Pietrabona, as depicted in the fresco of the main altar, created specifically for a fundraiser intended for its restoration and conservation.
