farmer transported to San Matteo by air ambulance – overseas

COLLI VERDI – He was hit by the tractor which overturned due to the collapse of a stretch of land where he was working. The man, a 39-year-old resident in the municipality of Pometo, a hamlet of the municipality of Colli Verdi, is now hospitalized at the San Matteo Polyclinic in Pavia with a prognosis of over a month of treatment. The man in fact suffered fractures to several ribs and vertebrae but fortunately, despite the severity of the accident, his life was not in danger. The dynamics of the incident are now being examined by the police who intervened on site and are trying to understand how this injury could have happened. The accident occurred around 7pm on Wednesday.

PG, 39 years old, resident in Casa Cappelletta, a small hamlet located not far from the Pometo cemetery, was working in the fields he owns which are adjacent to his home. Suddenly the tractor he was working on overturned, probably due to land subsidence, and the vehicle partly crushed the man. PG however managed to get up and return on his own two feet to his home located a few meters from where the accident occurred. As the minutes passed, complaining of severe abdominal and back pain, the man asked for 118 intervention. An ambulance arrived from Stradella.

Considering the seriousness of the injuries sustained in the accident, the volunteers asked for the intervention of the air ambulance which took off from Milan Niguarda and soon reached Pometo. Once he landed, the 118 helicopter rescue doctors recovered the man and transported him to the San Matteo Polyclinic in Pavia. His condition is considered serious but PG’s life is not in danger.
