A tragedy aboard a commercial flight where, according to what is learned from the authorities, an eight-year-old girl died after having suffered a medical emergency. The company flight SkyWest departed Juplin, Missouri, in the early morning of Thursday, June 13 and was headed to Chicago when it was diverted to Peoria, approximately 45 minutes after takeoff. The little girl was traveling with her family and was headed to their holiday destination, but she had a health problem following which she became unresponsive. The flight was then forced to make an emergency landing. Once on the ground, Sydney, the little girl, was rescued by medics and rushed to hospital, where however she was declared dead despite all aggressive resuscitation efforts.

The autopsy is scheduled for today, Friday 14 June for the necessary investigations. The coroner reported: «His family immediately informed the flight staff of his condition and they began to provide help.
