Leonardo Scarel 21 years old, of Third of Aquileia (Udine), is dead: after two days of hospitalization following a very serious road accident that occurred on Tuesday afternoon, the young man died. The accident had happened to Cervignano, not far from his grandmother’s house, which he had just gone to visit. A storm was raging in the area: the young man’s car went off the road and ended up against a tree.
Leonardo Scarel dead, who was he?
The victim – who had achieved numerous successes in the field of youth artistic gymnastics – had given his consent to the removal of his organs, scheduled for the next few hours. Leonardo lived with his parents in Terzo di Aquileia. He had graduated from the nautical institute of Trieste and was doing an internship in a company in Brescia specialized in the production of aircraft engines. He leaves behind his mother Silvia, his father Maurizio, his grandparents, uncles and cousins.
Gymnastics champion
He was also well known for the sporting successes he had achieved in artistic gymnastics. In 2017 he first earned the title of regional champion and then the title of Italian champion with the gold medal at the regional trophy. On the day of the accident he was returning home after visiting his grandparents.
The accident
From the findings it seems that, due to the difficult weather conditions, a violent storm had broken out and he lost control of his Fiat Punto crashing into a tree.
