Riccione: last night “Lifeguard Festival” between sardines, fireworks and Romagna Mia

Last night, despite the uncertain weather in the afternoon, the Port square was packed, where the “Rustida – Lifeguard Festival” took place which this year celebrated the 60th anniversary of the tragic storm of 8 June 1964 which gave rise to one of the most attended events, intended to thank all those who helped put the beautiful beach of Riccione back on track.

There was a large crowd that attended the party, united by the desire to be together, dance (also to the tune of Romagna Mia), exchange memories and thoughts while sitting at the large table under the stars set up in the square. The lifeguards of Riccione and the Association for the UNESCO candidacy of Riccione prepared the traditional fish “rustida”, distributed free of charge together with the piadina offered by Riccione Piadina.

The entertainment of Mauro Forbicini’s Studjo agency kicked off the party, making people move to the rhythm of the most loved songs, involving the whole square with the choreographies of maestro Mattia and the hits sung by Claudia Cieli who interacted with the public, while the images of Riccione from the 60s onwards and the music videos projected on the big screen kicked off the “Video party experience” to dance and sing along the lines of memories.

Greetings from Diego Casadei, President of the Cooperativa Lifeguards and the deputy mayor of Riccione Sandra Villa accompanied the 2024 edition of the “Rustida – Lifeguard Festival” which then ended in the late evening with the traditional fireworks.
