explore Friuli-Venezia Giulia on two wheels

September 19, 2024 marks the start of the first edition of FVG Bike Trail, an innovative non-competitive cycle tourism event that promises to immerse two-wheel lovers in the natural and cultural wonders of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Organized by It Takes Two srl with the support of PromoturismoFVG and the collaboration of several local entities, the event aims to combine the enthusiasm for cycling with the adventure of travel.

Two routes to explore Friulian authenticity

FVG Bike Trail offers two loop route options: a main route of 490km with a positive difference in height of 5,200 meters and a shorter route than 190km with 2,000 meters of positive difference in height. Each itinerary passes through breathtaking landscapes, from San Daniele to the coast of Lignano, touching iconic places such as Venzone, Gemona, the Torre and Natisone Valleys, the Colli Orientali, Cividale, Palmanova and Marano Lagunare.

Freedom of travel and immersion in the territory

Contrary to traditional competitions, FVG Bike Trail invites participants to explore the region at their own pace. The unsupported format allows cyclists to decide when to start, how much time to dedicate to each stage and where to stop for rest. Freedom of planning is emphasized by the provision of GPS tracks of the routes shortly before departure, while Villa Manin in Passariano di Codroipo acts as a starting and arrival point, ensuring easy access by all means of transport, including bicycles.

Gianni Borta’s art on the official shirt

A distinctive element of FVG Bike Trail it is the official shirt of the event, a true work of art signed by the renowned Friulian artist Gianni Borta. This union between art and cycling materializes in the Supergiara Jersey model by Sportful, transformed into a colorful canvas that celebrates the beauty of the territory. The shirt not only represents the event, but is also proposed as an icon to collect, testimony to the cycling adventures experienced on the streets of Friuli.
